OS2.0 SHOPIFY THEME RE-BUILD

Rise Records was built on a custom theme a few years ago. This lead to maintenance issues as Shopify's platform has significantly evolved since then.

Crooked Youth re-built the site on an OS2.0 compatible theme - maintaining core functionality and design, while implementing solutions that allow the site to be maintained by the Rise team through the Shopify theme editor.

Utilizing Metafields To Create Custom Artist Templates

With the ability to build metafields natively in Shopify OS 2.0, Crooked Youth developed custom sections on artist collection pages to populate key artist info all from the collection back end.

    If a particular metafield is not filled out, it will not display on the collection page, allowing for flexibilty on the front end design while keeping internal admin as easy as possible.

    In a general direct to consumer store, it's typical to have dynamic Shopify product recommendations.

    With a record label store, the product recommendations can become innacurate due to the different genres and artists involved. Rise wanted to limit the dynamic product recommendations to be only products from that artist.

    To solve this, Crooked Youth was able to implement a section that populates more from the vendor of the product page you are viewing. This provides a simple solution and ensures fans only see products from the artist they are interested in.

    Since Rise Records is a record label with a robust product catalog, Crooked Youth decided to leverage Candy Rack's AI-powered cross-selling ability. This fully automated feature is powered by the Shopify product recommendations API and triggers on an Add To Cart click.
